We are a group of Christians who come from a number of different backgrounds. Our common denominator is a desire to know, love, and follow the living Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. His love has captured us and through such love, we meet together according to New Testament revelation.
We are families and singles. We are young and old. We are professionals and college students. We come from many countries and cherish all races. With this variety, there is a marvelous oneness of the Spirit that we strive to keep.
Concerning our name, we consider all believers in Pittsburgh to be the church. To help keep the oneness among all the believers, we hold no special name, but simply call ourselves the church in Pittsburgh, which is what the early believers did as we see with the apostle John who wrote the book of Revelation.
The Bible
We believe that the Bible is the authoritative, inerrant, complete (66 books), divinely inspired Word of God which defines the complete divine truth and reveals God’s way of salvation.
God
We believe that God is one triune God — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; three distinct but not separate Persons who coexist equally from eternity to eternity.
Jesus Christ
We believe that Jesus Christ, Son of God, became incarnated to be a sinless man, born of the Virgin Mary, that he might be our redeemer and Savior. The Lord Jesus died for our sins on the cross and then rose from the dead on the third day both spiritually and physically. He then ascended to heaven to be the Lord of all and is coming again in the future.
