The Female Life

Moses was the savior of God’s people in Egypt. It is important to ask how such a man of God was raised up. Exodus 2 explains that Moses was prepared to serve entirely by females. This portion of Scripture paints a picture of the importance of sisters in the church life. Four functions exhibited in Exodus are 1) that of the mother – who conceived, bore, and nurtured, 2) the older sister – who, with proper discernment, watched, observed, and made the right connections, 3) Pharaoh’s daughter’s servant – who helped and served, and 4) Pharaoh’s daughter – who raised, taught, and trained Moses. Yes, brothers are important, but sisters are vitally needed to further God’s purpose on earth.
